What a story, Angus Young welcoming Guns N Roses to Sydney by walking onto their plane in Hi-Vis disguised as a security guard, reports Triple M's Becko.

When Gunners bassist Duff McKagan tweeted this out last week, we knew what was coming…. Angus was going to be joining Gunners on stage!!??

To add fuel to the rumour, a member of the GN’R management team, Fernando Lebeis posted this on Instagram (flowers).

Hours before the Friday night gig, text messages were coming through, saying that Angus Young’s guitar tech was spotted and they have sound checked “Riff Raff”... it’s happening!

So sure enough, Angus hits the stage and performed “Rosie” and “Riff Raff”. It was brilliant. It made news around the world, AC/DC and GN’R fans rejoiced… He didn’t wear his school uniform??!! Is this significant?

The next day, Angus joins them again on stage, again. Same songs and same outfit. Jeans and plain white T shirt.

He did join them on weekend one of Coachella last year, but was in “character”.

Post

I’ve had 24 hours to ponder this. Was this a message or just a chilled out Angus popping around to jam in front of ANZ Stadium?

No way. THIS IS MASSIVE. He hasn’t performed on stage not in “uniform” since 2003, with the Rolling Stones at the Enmore. Yep, jeans and T shirt here in Sydney.

This was Angus Young, not “little Angus”, the character….

So what does this mean?

For the first time in his life, Angus is not in brother Malcolm’s shadow. Mal was the leader of the band. He made the calls. He called the shots.

Sadly, Mal will never return to the band due to ill health, and losing Brian [Johnson], Cliff [Williams] and of course Phil [Rudd], it doesn’t look good for the future of AC/DC.

Has Angus Young retired “school uniform Angus” and the band???

Clearly Angus and Axl have a great relationship after finishing off the AC/DC tour. Could they work together on a new solo album? Maybe a blues album, or possibly one final AC/DC instalment.

Either way, Angus Young joining GN’R on stage in Sydney was freakin’ awesome.
