Star West Coast midfielder Luke Shuey has signed a new four-year contract extension which ties him to the club until the end of 2022 at least.

Shuey will be 32 years old by the time his new deal expires, meaning he will almost certainly end his career with the Eagles.

“It’s really good to get the deal done. I’m super pumped to sign on with the footy club,” Shuey said.

“Coming through the ranks as a younger player, you see guys at 26 or 27 sign four or five year-deals and you look on and think ‘Geez, they’re old’. That’s me now.

“I’m getting to the back half of my career, but hopefully we’ve still got plenty of success ahead and some exciting years coming up.”

Since being drafted at pick No.18 in 2008, the reigning best-and-fairest has played 145 games and kicked 117 goals for the Eagles.
