Brendon Ah Chee is off to West Coast.

The Port Adelaide midfielder will make his way to Perth after both teams were able to agree on a deal on Tuesday.

AFL.com.au has reported West Coast has given up a 2018 third round pick, in exchange for Ah Chee and Port Adelaide's 2018 fourth round pick.

The midfielder nominated West Coast as his preferred home of choice last week.

His younger brother Callum, who plays for Gold Coast, has celebrated the move on Twitter.

"You've worked so hard for this go kill it back home brother," he wrote on Tuesday afternoon.

He becomes the third player to leave Alberton this trade period, with Jackson Trengove joining the Western Bulldogs via free agency and Jarman Impey landing a trade to Hawthorn.

Ah Chee has struggled to cement his place in Port Adelaide's side, playing 27 games over the past three seasons.

That struggle may have continued with Port Adelaide recruiting Steven Motlop and Tom Rockliff to bolster the club's midfield.
