Your weekly fix of the weird and bizarre

Gay rights

January 1, 2009

A straight UK man has won a landmark court case of sexual harassment after being branded "gay".

Stephen English - who has been happily married for three years and has three teenage children - was branded a "faggot" after colleagues discovered he lived in Brighton, a town with a thriving gay population - and went to a boarding school.

The employee of blind and awning maker Thomas Sanderson decided to take legal action after a company newsletter claimed he attended Brighton's Gay Pride parade wearing "skin-tight Lycra cycling shorts".

Lord Justice Sedley said: "The incessant mockery created a degrading and hostile working environment, and it did so on grounds of sexual orientation."

A previous attempt by English at claiming against the company was rejected. The court has now accepted the case under the 2003 Employment Equality Sexual Orientation Regulations.

Weird Video of the Week

Like Boxing Day here in Australia, the day after Thanksgiving is shopping day! Except this poor girl enjoyed herself a bit too much the night before.

What's making us laugh?

These guys obviously have too much time on their hands... they should have spent that time practicing their skills.
