UPDATE: The AFL says it has apologised to both Gold Coast and Fremantle after a time-keeping error during Saturday night's match meant there was an extra 39 seconds played.
AFL spokesman Patrick Keane also said the "timekeepers will not be eligible for upcoming matches in Queensland".
Ninety-six per cent of the people who took our poll below think the winning margin in the game should be revised to one point.
EARLIER: The AFL says findings from an investigation into extra time as a result of a probable time-keeping error in the final term of Fremantle's narrow win over Gold Coast may not be revealed until Monday.
The league says it's investigating why the clock stayed on 7:55 after a ball-up in the middle of the ground for 39 seconds.
No score was registered during this 39 seconds, however the Dockers kicked a goal in the last 39 seconds of the game, which they won by seven points.
"We are aware of it (the apparent error) and are investigating to see if the correct procedures were followed," AFL spokesman Patrick Keane told AFL Media.
Gold Coast and Fremantle are yet to make official statements on the issue.

Gold Coast SUNS superboot Trent McKenzie faceplants at half time lay-up comp during LA Lakers and Pheonix Suns NBA match.
The footage may be grainy but what makes it for us is his mates pissing themselves laughing in the stands.
Let's just hope for Trent's sake he's a little more sure-footed on the footy field than he is on the basketball court.

Defending V8 Supercar champion James Courtney has told The Grill Team it's been a tough week for racing after the death of his close friend and co-driver Dan Wheldon.
"It's touched a lot of guys up and down pit lane. I knew him personally in and away from racing."
James Courtney was meant to team up with the 33 year-old Brit who was killed at the Las Vegas Indy 15 car pile up last weekend.
