Who knew basketball could be so funny?

Comedian Will Ferrell has had a few jobs in his time, racing car driver, ice-skater, baseball pitcher but now he has turned his hand to announcing.

Ferrell was the host of the New Orleans Hornets "80's" night as their basketball team took on the Chicago Bulls.

And it was the players who bore the brunt of his one-liners. Here are just a few.

"He majored in Econ [sic] but majored in love."

"He still lives with his mother".

"He collects rare birds and has a pet dolphin named jockey."

"He doesn't speak a word of English but we love him anyway."
