Can We Ever Forgive Celine Dion? Posted by Dave-O 4 February, 2010 - 8:45 PM

When AC/DC sadly lost Bon Scott, the search for a replacement could never be taken lightly.

Having uncovered the amazing Brian Johnson, Acca Dacca acheived one of the greatest reinventions in music history.

So what would have been the case if Johnson never showed up? Who could have taken the mantle? How about Celine Dion? Yes, you read right: Celine bloody Dion.

We've uncovered footage from the 2002 VH1 Divas Las Vegas Concert where the slightly mad Dion duets with fellow ballad-belter Anastacia to cover 'You Shook Me All Night Long'.

During her performance, Dion is seen playing a mean air guitar, breaking into a duck-walk in heels and singing with her trademark, whiny twang through one of AC/DC's all-time classics.

Despite her valliant effort, Total Guitar Magazine named her rendition the 'worst ever' cover version.

A wee bit harsh we think, especially considering some of the stuff we've seen on Australian Idol over the last decade!

Should Celine have ever been given the green light to do this?

Hahahahahhahahahhahahahaha a few months ago I searched AC/DC on youtube and was browsing through what came up, and stumbled across the Celine Dion cover of 'You Shook Me All Night Long'. I almost cried, half because of how terrible it is and how hilarious I thought it was, and half because she has taken a perfectly amazing song and ruined it. :|

And how dare she attempt to do Angus Young's duck walk, you should only ever do that if you have a guitar, air guitar just isn't good enough.

Although, I don't mind Celine Dion, but she should NEVER cover AC/DC :)

I am certain that years ago I was listening to Roy and HG and I heard the worst version ever of "Highway to Hell". It was so bad that I deliberately waited for it to be back announced. I couldn't believe it when they said that it was sung by TINY TIM!! Dreadful!!!

Well, It's not bad, I like the singing though, a bit more from Anastacia, although the guitar is crap.

I love the Shania Twain version though.

OMG why can't everyone just leave AC/DC do their stuff. No one will ever be able to play their songs better than them! LET THERE BE ROCK!
