Blink-182's triumphant return to Oz (Ashley Mar/Triple M)

There was a huge turnout for Blink-182's first tour in bloody ages as over 15,000 eager Blink-182 fans rocked it out at Allphones Arena last night for the first of Blink's three Soundwave Festival sideshows.

Triple M's Becko was there to experience all the action. He said it was awesome gig with a good mixed setlist from all the albums.

"Blink-182 were simply on fire and replacement drummer Brooks Wackerman (Bad Religion, Tenacious D) didn’t disappoint. They were pretty funny live and actually looked like they were enjoying themselves with the banter in-between songs.

"The old stuff like "All The Small Things" was awesome to hear live. In fact, you can always tell the difference between old and new fans when they singalong to the lyrics of classics like "Josie".

"Other highlights included "Down", Feeling This" and "I Miss You".

"Mid-show they showcased Wackerman with an epic drum solo and towards the end of the show, they stripped it back for an acoustic set – which everyone appreciated (they probably needed a rest!).

"Thanks guys for an incredible show. A packed house at Allphones isn’t easy to keep entertained, they kicked arse… they really did. Welcome back fellas!"

And what a way to kick off the Soundwave Festival. Best night ever.
