INXS Never Tear Us Apart preview Video: Channel Seven

The television event of the year, INXS Never Tear Us Apart is screening this Sunday night at 8.30pm on Channel Seven.

We've seen bits of it and it's unbelievable. Even if you're not a music fan you'll love it, and if you are an INXS fan they've really done the band justice.

Triple M spoke to a guy who given INXS were one of the hardest working bands in eighties, he must've been as well because he was their promoter of all of their gigs. We are talking about Mark Pope and he joined The Grill Team.

In the interview below he talks about his impressions the first time he ever saw the band, playing shows in the 80s, and the effect Michael Hutchence had on woman including an Aussie rockstar's wife!

INXS fans missing the band since they called it quits last December, will be frothing with the news that the cast have been announced for the Channel 7 mini-series, Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS.

We heard some months back that the all important part of Michael Hutchence is to be played by hot Aussie actor Luke Arnold, but what about the rest of the band?

Newcomer Nicholas Masters will play Tim Farriss, Ido Drent (Offspring, Shortland Street) will play Jon Farriss, Andy Ryan (Underbelly: Squizzy Taylor, Reef Doctors) will play Andrew Farriss, Alex Williams (Underground: The Julian Assange Story) will play Kirk Pengilly, and Hugh Sheridan (Packed to the Rafters) will play Garry Gary Beers, while Damon Herriman (The Sullivans, Love My Way) will play the band’s manager, CM Murphy.

Of course, this mini-series will rock because the actual band are right behind it... Which means that what you see is probably what you got for the 35 or so years that INXS existed.

"I've been spending a lot of time with the cast and I'm amazed," INXS guitarist Tim Farriss said.

"At times I actually thought Michael was there. It has been all forms of emotions for me – I'm very excited."

Production for Never Tear Us Apart: The Untold Story of INXS starts in Melbourne next week and will screen on Channel Seven later this year.
