Australian rock and roll kings The Living End have finally returned – refreshed, rejuvenated and with a brand-new swagger.
Having taken a five year break after the release of the ARIA award winning The Ending Is Just The Beginning Repeating, The Living End rightfully reclaim the Australian rock throne with the release of single ‘Staring Down The Barrel’ and lifted from their seventh album Shift – which debuted #4 on the ARIA chart in May.
‘Staring Down The Barrel’ is one of the most powerful and hook-packed songs of The Living End’s career. Front-man Chris Cheney says “It’s a battle, that song (Staring Down the Barrel) is about drawing a line in the sand.”
“We’ve all had our moments. Scott’s got a great way of thinking about it — you do the crime you do the time, don’t whinge about it after. Whereas I’m one of the people who will do something, not just drinking, but being in situations where you torture yourself by doing the same thing over and over, but it’s that internal struggle you can’t just stop doing it.

Shift is available now on iTunes, Spotify and Apple Music via Dew Process / UMA

WHAT IS RECORD OF THE WEEK:
The Triple M Record Of The Week is what it says it is…
Each week Triple M selects a song from all the new music being considered for the playlist as the ‘Record of The Week’.
It’s a song, sometimes an album we think is going to do big things and we want to give it a head start and feature it on air across the week.
We’ll also get your feedback on it and feature it in the Music Jury.
So far we’ve featured new music from Kings Of Leon, Disturbed, Catfish And The Bottlemens, Blink 182, Sting and Red Hot Chili Peppers, as well as the great new songs from local legends The Amity Affliction, Bernard Fanning and Birds of Tokyo.
