Angry Loves The Libs Post by: Dave-O 19 August, 2010 - 10:12 AM

Finally a bit of rock n' roll has come to this election courtesy of one of Australia's biggest living rock legends.

Angry Anderson has thrown his weight behind the Liberal Party (yes, we didn't know he was a Liberal voter either) with a political ad claiming Labor are trying to con us ahead of this weekend's federal election.

But in an hilarious twist an anonymous source has leaked a follow-up video, which we reckon would be absolutely brilliant as the Liberal Party's new theme song with it's lyric "this is the warrior's destiny"!

It juxtaposes the official ad with Angry's unforgettable performance (for all the wrong reasons) of his classic singalong "Bound For Glory" at the 1991 AFL grand final.

We have to admit we were a little shocked to see a working class rocker like Angry throwing his support behind the Libs. But then again he's had a long history of shocking people with his controversial views.

On the one hand he's done fantastic work with various charities and in 1993 he was made a Member of the Order of Australia for his role as a youth advocate. But he's also been an outspoken critic on immigration.

Eh, no real suprises there. Angry is an embarrassment to Australia and easily ranks as one of the biggest idiots in the country along with Tony Abbott.

He may have done some great work with charity but the guy's views and opinions on matters are as outdated as he is.

From legend to sellout dog in one swift move. Mick Cocks would be turning in his grave to see this.

Thank god Jimmy Barnes still knows what "working class" means.

Way to go Angry. What a pity he isn't a contender for the area of Chifley.

Angry knows he is being conned just like the lot of us out here.... caste your vote for the right party and not for the con artists and the backstabber Gillard. Their schemes caused deaths, waste and mismanagement, they don't deserve a second run.

Lies and more spin is just not good enough. Get rid of them on the 2lst, you will do yourselves a favour..

Angry is still a working class guy, he's just a realist, he can see that the Labor government has turned it's back on working class Aussies.
Maybe the sheep calling him a sellout should think before they vote on the weekend?

Angry Anderson, Well what a disappointment.

I grew up fast on a working class streets, (Broady) a suburb North of the river, worked on factory floors done my trade just like most people I know, oh yeah and bought your albums Angry.

Bands like the Tatts, Angels, AC/DC etc. were the soundtrack to a generation of working class battlers, battlers who put you where you are today. My My how money changes everything!

And now you want a Liberal government in power, a government that couldn't give a rat's about the working class. A Liberal government that will take away workers rights, and have us begging for $10 an hour with no entitlements.

Labor may have made a couple of Blues but they haven't turned their back on the working class, you need your facts spoonfed to you.

And what would you know Angry, its people like you who have turned their backs on us. No longer Branded "One of the boys".

If the Lib's get in we will be shafted but "We cant be beaten".

    Regards
    Gough.

How much were you paid to do this ad?? I didn't think things were that bad for you.

I am extrememly disappointed... but love the spoof ad... very apt!!

Hi Angry, loved you in the 80's, 90's and all of my rock life.

Angry. I was a victim of a violent attack and was so relieved that someone was finally upfront, and honest about what is happening in our suburbs. You spoke the truth.

Now you have shown your true worth by being blatantly clear about the Labor Party.

Labor is great at telling the working class they are there to support them, but they are short on delivering it, especially the modern Labor Party

I don't think it's a problem that Angry is disappointed and pointing the faults of Labor. I think the problem is that he's getting behind the Liberals with this idea that they'll fix everything.

And further pushing this terrible idea that if one major party isn't good then you just jump in bed with the other. That you don't look into alternatives and hope what you think is the lesser of two evils will do good by the working class.

So what happens if the Libs get in and after 3 years they don't fix anything? Will Angry then jump over back to Labor? Or will he have to defend the Liberal party? Or will he become apolitical?

Also, those ads are terrible. 15 second ads of a guy using his 'working class hero' cred trying scare people in under 40 words that their grandkids are going to be doomed.

I'd like to see him actually discuss at length his political views.

Angry, what are you thinking? The Liberals are going to hurt this great country if they get in due to the fact that Abbott wants to bring back work choices and they also want to hurt the kids and the less fortunate people...

Seriously think before you speak. In fact, just keep singing and stay out of politics. Go Labor.
