Celebrating 25 years, the 2011 ARIA Awards were announced today in Sydney.

Chris Lilley's Angry Boys soundtrack and Gotye scoring early awards, with Eskimo Joe scoring a coveted Album Of The Year nomination for their latest long-player, Ghosts Of The Past.

The ARIAs have got a really open feel to them this year – no Powderfinger, no Silverchair, no Missy Higgins, no Grinspoon. It means there’s finally gonna be some different acts claiming trophies.

Here at Triple M, we’re most excited for Birds Of Tokyo (single of the year, best group), Eskimo Joe (album of the year, best group, best rock album), and The Living End (best group, best rock album)... Hope all our mates in those bands get their hands on one of the big awards. Good luck to all!

The ARIA Awards winners will be announced at a star-studded event on Sunday 27 November at Allphones Arena (formerly Acer Arena).
