Following news that the big-budget Kurt Cobain bio-pic is all go, focus now turns to who will play who in the movie covering the history of Nirvana.
It’s obvious Frances Bean Cobain should play the part of her father in the movie [if Courtney Love doesn’t take the role for herself], Will Ferrell will play Nirvana bass player Krist Novoselic, you’ll need a supermodel for Courtney Love’s character [ha!], which leaves the role of a young Dave Grohl.
It seems the slightly older Dave Grohl has already got that one all figured out.
He wants a woman to play the part of a fresh-faced Nirvana drummer. In particular, the actress Shelley Duvall, the woman Jack Nicholson chased around with an axe in The Shining.
“I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m crossing my fingers that Shelley Duvall plays me,” Grohl told People magazine in the US this week. “Shelley Duvall in The Shining – that’s my face, you cannot get any closer than that.
“Put a beard on her. Cate Blanchett did it in the Dylan movie!”
