Ex-besties Marilyn Manson and Trent Reznor headlined festivals on opposite sides of the world over the weekend and both managed to steal the headlines from every other act on the bill, but this time not for slagging each other off.
Over at the Bonnaroo festival in Tennessee in the US, Trent Reznor announced from the stage that this performance was the last time that Nine Inch Nails would ever perform in America.
“It just dawned on me that this is our last show ever in the United States,” Reznor told his fans. “Don’t be sad. I’ll keep going. But I think I’m going to lose my f**king mind if I keep doing this, and I have to stop.” [STOP PRESS: Reznor Confirms He’s Losing His Mind!!!]
Meanwhile, over in the UK, Reznor's favourite sparring partner Marilyn Manson was one of the big acts at London’s Download and it wasn’t his music that put him in the headlines.
“The goth rocker’s flabby, bloated appearance – unlike his more familiar look – shocked fans at the fest,” wrote one newspaper. “In fact, he was so unfit he had to keep nipping behind the drumkits to suck up oxygen from a tank.”
Nothing wrong with that – I need extra oxygen just to get through this blog every morning … Just hope there's a plane big enough to get Manson and all his tanks out here for his Aussie Tour.

In the case of NIN's Trent Reznor he's obviously over it and he's making the call to move on... good on him.
In the case of Marilyn Manson it wouldn't matter so much if he didn't keep trying to fit into the same tights he wore ten years ago. Loser.

His music, appearance, artisticness, and everything else is absolute s**t.
I don't think a few pounds is gonna make him any less scary anyway. It'll just be funny to see the wanker hobbling around stage.
How about we just report on good musicians who play good music, rather than this gossipy s**t.

Sad to see NIN split but their music was on the Downward Spiral.
Should have called it a day after all that could have been.

Manson is good in his own Genre of music. He is deffinatly unique and nutty, but the weight gain is probably from lack of exercise, Bad Diets, and Lots of Drugs.
Not keen on NIN but as I said they are great in their own little way, and Metallica is cool but I wouldn't say I am a Big fan, I am more for Dimmu Bogir and Cradle of Filth personally.
If you want to listen to s**t you just go and buy a Britney Spears album xD
