Foo Fighters’ Best Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 23 September, 2009 - 7:03 AM

Foo Fighters have revealed the details of their much-anticipated, long-overdue greatest hits set.

To help celebrate the band’s 15th anniversary – can you believe that? – Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits [catchy name, eh?] comes out October 30.

The set will be available in three versions. There’s the standard 16-track one-disc version, a 12-inch vinyl version, or there’s a special deluxe pack which comes with a bonus DVD and a collector’s 28- page booklet featuring heaps of previously unreleased pics.

Music-wise, there’s everything you’d expect – except perhaps for the peculiar absence of “The One”.

For everyone who’s already got everything the Fooies have ever released, the band has thought of you too, with a few rarities exclusive to this set.

There are two new songs, “Word Forward” and “Wheels” [the song the band previewed at their White House gig earlier in the year, which you can hear above], plus the previously unreleased acoustic demo version of “Everlong”.

Meanwhile, the DVD will feature a bunch of the band’s classic clips, as well as a brand new clip shot for “Wheels”, plus highlights from recent tours and a couple of Easter egg surprises.

Here’s the full tracklisting for Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits:

All My Life
Best Of You
Everlong
The Pretender
My Hero
Learn To Fly
Times Like These
Monkeywrench
Big Me
Breakout
Long Road To Ruin
This is a Call
Skin and Bones
Wheels
Word Forward
Everlong (acoustic)

Do you need Foo Fighters’ Greatest Hits? Should any other songs be included or did they get it right?

Love it. I think they've got this best of set pretty spot on.

And on a different note I can't wait to see Dave tour Australia with his new band Them Crooked Vultures. I bough my earplugs yesterday.

    WHAT?

why isn't The One on there?

you know what was also disappointing, they didn't play The One when they last came here. There were people who even brought a banner with The One on there.

Disappointing, but can't wait for the Greatest Hits to come out, will get it straight away

    Pre-order available?

I thought Generator should've been on there. Maybe For All The Cows too. The One is a glaring omission - awesome song.

Have got all their cds, but might look at getting the deluxe set if it's got old filmclips on it. Christmas list?!

'Generator' should be on this album for sure! Otherwise, it's a great selection.

They are the best band in the world. A lot of their best songs were not released as singles such as Hey Jonny park, up in arms, new way home, halo, overdrive, come alive, but honestly etc.

Still the best live band ive seen. Dave is the master. 5 stars

I would have liked to see 'Hey, Johnny Pak' and 'walking after you' on the list.

I'll still get the album though. It will be great to listen to all the best in the car without having to worry about changing cds!!!
