If you can't beat them, join them say Linkin Park.
Linkin Park are staying one step ahead of those pesky bootleggers by teaming up with Basecamp Productions (who is an official bootlegger of sorts) to give away live recordings from shows on their current world tour.
Bassist Dave Farrell told WENN he was really excited about sharing the live experience with fans around the world.
"The energy we get from our fans is what makes a great show. We wanted to show our appreciation by giving that experience back to them."
To get your free song you'll need to either get to one of their concerts or know someone that's going. You send a text message to a number that's displayed at each concert. You'll then get an email with a link to download.
The tour starts January 20th in Florida, USA.
Linkin Park fans have been treated to a feast of stuff over the past 18 months as band members work on a myriad of projects.
There was the track, "New Divide", the lead song off the soundtrack to the Transformers movie, Revenge of the Fallen, where the band collaborated on the whole soundtrack.
While, singer Chester Bennington released his debut solo album, under the name Dead By Sunrise.
And of course, Linkin Park just finished smashing Aussie audiences last month on their world tour playing songs from their new album, A Thousand Suns.
