Green Day launched their word tour in Seattle over the weekend and going by the reports and YouTube footage from the concert, we’re in for one hell of a show when the band hits our shores in December.
Green Day bashed out an epic two-hour gig on the opening night in a show that featured countless unforgettable moments.
Using a massive, ever-changing video screen as a backdrop, Green Day cut through a huge chunk of 21st Century Breakdown, as well as a slew of their greatest hits and a couple of unexpected covers [including 1950s’ hits “Shout!” and “Stand By Me”].
First night highlights included Billie Joe Armstrong pulling a fan out of the crowd who played a note-perfect version of “Jesus of Suburbia” on Billie Joe’s guitar.
Green Day now play almost a show every night in the lead-up to landing in Perth for the start of the Australian leg of the tour on December 4.
The set-list for the opening night was:
“21st Century Breakdown”“Know Your Enemy”“East Jesus Nowhere”“Holiday”“Static Age”“Before the Lobotomy”“Are We Waiting”“Geek Stink Breath”“Hitchin’ a Ride”“Brain Stew”“Jaded”“Longview”“Basket Case”“She”“King For A Day/Shout”“Stand By Me”“21 Guns”“American Eulogy”“American Idiot”“Jesus of Suburbia”“Boulevard of Broken Dreams”“Minority”“Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)”

Bloody awesome... Can't wait to see 'em here.
Wicked set-list. I love how they opened with three tracks for the new album including Eat Jesus Nowhere, the best track on the album.
Great encore as well!
Unbelievable.
