The awesome tour news just doesn’t stop: Britney Spears is coming to Australia!!! Wait, wait, wait – sorry. Make that: Green Day will be in Australia before the year is out!!!

Although there’s no official announcement yet [expect one any day now], the bible of all things Green Day, greendayauthority.com, has jumped the 21 guns and revealed the band will be in Oz in December for a five-state arena tour.

Our local sources have also confirmed that these details are pretty much on the money.

According to the site, tickets for all shows will go on sale July 1 and the tour will kick off in Perth on December 4. The band will be in the country up to just before Christmas, with enough time to add lots more shows to the tour.

The article also confirmed that the next single off 21st Century Breakdown will be "21 Guns".

8 - Entertainment Centre, Brisbane
11 - Acer Arena, Sydney
