Massive, massive news for Gunners fans. Axl Rose is the hot tip to play Australia at the end of the year for the Telstra Sydney 500 V8 Supercars.
The Daily Telegraph have reported that festival organisers want Guns N' Roses to headline the gig which happens December 3-5 at Olympic Park.
"The Gunners are the No. 1 target and they've indicated they are willing to do it," a source said. "It's just a matter of getting the contracts signed." (We trust they're aware of Axl's last minute tantrums).
This is obviously a massive coup for organisers and follows on from last year's show where they got Cold Chisel to reform especially for the event!
Of course, we've heard all the stories of what's it's like touring with Axl Rose. And only last week Triple M's Ugly Phil spoke to a band that actually played with GN'R back in 2006.
Listen to what Matthew Tuck, singer from dark metal dudes Bullet For My Valentine had to say below:
"It was totally odd... like a circus," he recalls. "Every night, Axl was so unpredictable and he was winding people up including the 10,000 people that paid [for their tickets]."
Axl has made a career out of pissing people off and he does it so much these days that people are beginning to wonder whether it's just an act: "I don't know what the guy's deal is," said Tuck. "He's strange. He does anything he wants to do and that's the way he is. He doesn't give a s**t."

As long as they drop in on Melbourne I will be happy.
I don't care that it is "Axl & friends". I caught the Melbourne show last time and it was f---ing brilliant.
I would much, much, much rather check out Axl then Slash. At least Gunners songs would be sung by the only person who should be singing them.

OMG mum and I are so excited *screams* if it's just Sydney and no were else we are planning on flying ova just to see Guns N Roses.
When they toured in 2007 my mum went to the concert in Adelaide and I couldn't go so hopefully, fingers crossed, I can go to the Sydney one :D xxx

Last time I saw GNR in Sydney they were a bit pathetic. The band members were too showy not enough music.
At least Slash plays for the music. Axl is a douche who was 2 1/2 hours late... Still love the music - just such a tosser!

Can't wait soooo so keen so keen... Bring it on... Axl's voice is in fine form and with DJ Ashba in the mix it will be an awesome event!! -

I hope this is true. I went to both concerts last time in Melbourne 2007.I know it's not the same without Slash but I will see him in August. No one sings like Axl.
