KISS legend Gene Simmons reckons G'N'R could have been the "biggest band in the world. The reason they're not is because of Axl Rose," he suggested.
"The drugs, the heroin, the alcohol [didn't help], but ultimately, it falls on Axl's shoulders," Simmons continued.
Simmons saw the debauchery Gunners were famous for when he met with the wild band when they were looking for a producer for Appetite For Destruction. The chemistry didn't work and ultimately Simmons was not included in the creation of what is one of the most successful debut rock records in history.
When the KISS legend was prompted on what Axl needed, and what ultimately could have changed the fractured fate of the Gunners, his answer is simple.
"A good beating would have helped," Simmons suggested, implying discipline for Rose was what was sorely needed. "When you become a grown up, who's there to set you straight?"
