Oasis Refund Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 13 July, 2009 - 7:22 AM

The Gallagher brothers have kept their promise, offering fans at a recent hometown show in Manchester a refund on their tickets after the concert was plagued by sound problems.

The June 4 concert in front of 70,000 fans was meant to be the band’s triumphant homecoming, but their performance was constantly interrupted by technical breakdowns.

“Thank you very, very much, this is a free gig,” Noel told the crowd. “Anybody who has kept their ticket will get a full refund.”

Well, 20,000 fans have taken him up on the offer, sending in their tickets wanting the promised refund on their $100 outlay.

Staying true to their word and avoiding a legal nightmare, the band has sent those fans specially-printed cheques, signed by the Gallagher brothers and stamped “Oasis Bank of Burnage”.

The cheques are real, but the band are hoping most fans will decide to keep them as a souvenir rather than cash them in.

At least it seems the brothers have learnt their lesson. During a technical hiccup at Oasis’ Wembley Stadium show this weekend, Noel quickly informed the crowd: “Nobody is getting their money back. Not f**king one of you!”

What would you do – take the money or keep the cheque?

Keep the check! You could sell it on eBay for more than $100, especially in a few years!
