Powderfinger Return Post by: Eddie Ruckus - Rockin' Blogger 17 June, 2009 - 8:00 AM
Powderfinger [remember them?] have announced they’re getting back to work next week, heading into a studio on Monday to begin work in their follow-up to Dream Days At The Hotel Existence.
Although they’ve yet to begin work on the new record, which will be recorded here in Australia, a statement on the band’s website says they hope to have their seventh studio album out by the end of the year.
The sessions reunite the ’Finger with American producer and longtime collaborator Nick DiDia, who worked with the band on their most classic albums, Internationalist, Odyssey Number 5 and Vulture St.
Things have been fairly silent on the’Finger front since their Across The Great Divide joint-tour with the ’Chair a couple of years back. They played a benefit gig in Brisbane back in March and the only forthcoming show locked in is a headlining slot at the Deniliquin Ute Muster in country NSW on October 3.

Yes, I am very excited that Powderfinger have a new album coming out.
I have every one of their albums.
Beside AC/DC they are the next best Aussie band, and they are great live "go Powderfinger"!

HELL YES!
I CAN'T WAIT.
I looooooooooooove Powderfinger.
They're the best Australian band ever these days, (lol, these days).
They're original in every way, and they're such an inspiration to me and other bris-rockers.

Go the Finger. Once in a generation type of band. Greater than the sum of it's parts.

I hope it is out by summer. New Powderfinger music, a hot Queensland summer and an icy cold beer. There is a God!
