The Foo Fighters ended their humongous Wasting Light tour of Oz on the Gold Coast last night proving once again why they are one of the world's great rock bands.
37,000 fanatical Foo fans crammed the Metricon Stadium to farewell the mighty Foo Fighters and Triple M's Johnno Keetels was in the middle of all the mayhem.
"[Dave] Grohl was his usual commanding self, while Chris Shiflett's guitar work was top shelf," he raved after the show.
The band, having now pummeled the living daylights out of five capital cities in 12 days, was as tight as Taylor-Hawkins' snare drum and showed no sign of weakness or fatigue. They played an incredible set of songs and, simply put, the concert was monstrous.
"Highlights included "Best Of You", "Generator", "Rope", and a very stirring rendition of "These Days", which Dave said was 'hands down the best song he's ever written'," Johnno said.
"They finished with a cracking version of "Everlong" to cap a stellar 2-and-a-half hours from one of the world's great rock bands."
Fans posting reviews on the Triple M Rock News Facebook page concurred with Johnno's succinct summation of the show saying it was a never-to-be-forgotten experience.
"Just on our way home now & yes, they were FARKIN AWESOME!!!!!!:D," exclaimed Nichole Musgrove Boyd, while hardcore Foos fan Nataša Marić, who had traveled from Sydney to see the show, simply said: "F***ing Amazing!!". Well put!
Fellow diehard fan, Renee Dempsey said out of the three Foo shows she'd seen this week, this was the best sounding and most fun.
"I loved the chats with the crowd & the play-off with Shifty & Grohl & who can ever deny Pat's smile is out of this world... and permanent!
"Taylor's drum solo blew me away, [his] energy is foonominal! Nate was right into it cranking up the 'Nate Bop' & Rami is just a dead set honey:)."
