Sammy Hagar's tell-all rock autobiography Red: My Uncensored Life In Rock is promising to be an awesome read judging by the stuff he's been saying while on the promotions trail.
Following his weird revelation that he was once abducted by aliens, Sammy has now been telling us all the bands he could've joined over the years but didn't and how he's a much better singer than original Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth.
“When I came into Van Halen, it was easy because Dave wasn’t a great singer, but he was a good front man," he told www.gibson.com.
"In those times, I was selling out the same arenas they were, so it was like the combination of two forces and it worked—but it’s a rare thing. We were all lucky that the fans accepted it and it got bigger. I would avoid bands that are going to break up pretty soon."
Sammy then revealed he became the most wanted singer in rock with Motley Crue, Velvet Revolver and Aerosmith all wanting his signature wail.
“I was asked to be in Mötley Crüe,” he said. “I was asked to be in Pantera by their managers (Sammy in Pantera? We'd love to see that!). I was asked to be in Velvet Revolver when Scott Weiland quit and went back to the Stone Temple Pilots.
"I was asked to be in Aerosmith and I said ‘no.’ Certain bands and certain frontman singers are more difficult to replace than others. Steven Tyler and that band have stayed together for forty years and you don’t [just] walk into something like that. They had one moment years ago, when they replaced Joe Perry, but it’s still always been Steven at the front of Aerosmith. You don’t replace that."

Sammy needs to calm down and let his New album with Chickenfoot do the talking and see how it compares to the New Van Halen album.
He is sooooo pissed of VH are working well with Dave and I think he is worried they come out with a ripper of a new album.
At the end of the day I dont care who is singing.All I want to hear is EDDIE VAN HALEN'S shreding guitar.

I saw the rehashed version of VH with Dave and Wolfie in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.. Dave, sadly to say is awful. Eddie and Alex are awesome, Wolfie is NOT Micheal Anthony. His singing was dubbed with mikey's. Dave still thinks he is in the 80's.. Sammy saw him play in West Palm Beach, Florida. awesome awesome. Chickenfoot is awesome caught them in Arizona.
