Watch the first music video to surface from Lulu, Metallica and Lou Reed's misguided collaboration.
The arty black and white clip for Lulu track, "The View" is directed by Oscar winner Darren Aronofsky, responsible for films like Black Swan and Requiem For A Dream.
"The first time I heard "The View" I was stunned," Aronofsky said. "I had never heard anything like it. Half was all Lou. The other half all Metallica. It was a marriage that on the surface made no sense, but the fusion changed the way I thought about both artists and morphed into something completely fresh and new. I couldn't stop listening to it. Lou's crushing lyrics, and the band's incredible licks."
Despite everyone involved in the record waxing lyrical about it's brilliance, the album has been incredibly poorly received by critics and fans alike.
Most are seemingly scratching their heads at what they're hearing, with a few defending it as 'art.' JB Hi Fi's brutally honest wall display for the record has gone viral (see below) and sums it up better than most.
