Was Steve Tyler Pushed Off Stage? Post by: Dave-O 10 September, 2010 - 10:46 AM
Aerosmith singer Steve Tyler fell off stage recently in Toronto on their Cocked, Locked, Ready To Rock Tour, but reports following the incident are claiming that guitarist Joe Perry actually pushed him off stage!
When questioned about the incident the 60-year-old guitarist told the Calgary Herald, "[Steve Tyler's] got this thing in his head that it's cool when the guys in the band bump into each other. Nobody else in the band feels that way… Leave me alone when I’m playing."
But looking at this angle of the same incident we think Mr. Perry may have a case to answer!
He went on to question his future in Aerosmith saying: "Technically speaking, after the gig in Vancouver (on Sept. 16), I don’t have a job with Aerosmith. These are the last shows for a while."
There's no doubt that relationships within the band have been fractious with guitarist Brad Whitford and drummer Joey Kramer publicly questioning the Aerosmith singer’s sobriety.
Last year Tyler, 62, went into rehab and Perry threatened to replace him with a new singer.
This tour was meant to be an opportunity for the band to get back on stage and patch up their differences, but arguments flared up again after Tyler announced he was going for a job as judge on American Idol.
We thought rockers were meant to mellow out as they got older. Not these guys, obviously.
