Wolfmother Museum Piece Post by: Eddie Ruckus 5 May, 2009 - 7:25 AM
We know they’re a bit on the retro side, but are Wolfmother already museum worthy?
The animal-stuffers at the Los Angeles Natural History Museum seemed to think so, lending their venue to the new line-up of Wolfmother to make their US debut on the weekend.
A reviewer from Rolling Stone magazine said the new version of Wolfmother managed to stir up a bit of a frenzy with previews of a couple of the new tracks from their up-coming album, Cosmic Egg, but that the new members also weren’t quite match ready, missing a few cues.
Singer Andrew Stockdale said after the show: “I never thought I’d be back here doing this again. I didn’t even know if the songs could be played by other people. Someone told me I should do a solo project, but it seemed too pretentious.”
Andrew Stockdale? Pretentious?
The singer also revealed the band recently had a special guest drop by their LA studio recently, with Slash coming in for a jam and talk he might come back and lay down some guitar on Cosmic Egg.
Here’s Wolfmother’s setlist for their first US show:
“Dimension”
“Back Round”
“White Feather”
“White Unicorn”
“Cosmic Egg”
“Woman”
“Mind’s Eye”
“Joker & The Thief”
Do you think Andrew Stockdale is pretentious?

I was a bit sceptical at first but I thought their performance at Sound Relief was excellent.
Plus, I reckon the track is pretty cool as well.
There's something really geeky about Wolfmother that I love - the effects he used on the opening guitar riff for 'Back Round' is brilliant!

Slash & Wolfmother together? That's a lot of hair!
Aside from that - what an awesome combination!
