Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl has responded to the 1,000 Italian fans who epically covered "Learn to Fly".

The 46 year old posted to the band's Facebook page in Italian.

It loosely translates as: "Hi, Cesena! I am David, hello. I’m sorry, I don’t speak Italian. Only a little, a little. That video - but how beautiful! Very beautiful. Thank you very much [literally: a thousand thanks]. We are arriving [coming], I promise. We’ll see each other soon. Thank you very much. I love you. Bye."

Billy Corgan Gets Gangta

"The next person is getting a guitar upside the head!" - Billy "William" Corgan

(Screenshot via Youtube)

“I don’t know how these people are getting on stage, but the next person that does is getting a guitar upside the head!” sassed a frustrated Billy Corgan.

(via WWE)

It seemed that security just wasn’t enough to handle the excitement and sheer enthusiasm among fans at a Smashing Pumpkins gig last night, as throughout the concert wayward rockers rushed the stage to get a little taste of Corgan in the flesh.

Disaaaaaaaaarm! Ahhhhhhhhhh! #smashingpumpkins

A video posted by Rob (@culinary_molinari) on

(Instagram user culinary_molinari caught the moment the first fan rushed the stage (ironically) during 'Disarm' - much to Corgan's amusement)

The footage below shows two fans storming the stage during the Pumpkins’ classic ‘1979’ – before being utterly demolished by the “seccies” and dragged off stage.

But the continuous onslaught forced Corgan to get all real on their asses with his “threat”.

Grab a cheeky peek at some of the stage rush fails during '1979':

Sad Billy Corgan Is Our New Favourite Meme

First it was Kanye, now the internet gives us...

Billy "call me William" Corgan is the latest rock star to become a meme.

Introducing 'Sad Billy Corgan'...

Just look, admire at it's beauty, it's mystery and all the questions that it conjures up.

Such as, "Billy Corgan, why are you doing on a kids ride at Disneyland?" and "Billy Corgan, you are hailed as one of the pioneers of alternative and grunge... what happened?" and the most obvious one... "Billy, are you ok?"

Well here's what Billy... sorry... William had to say about being at Disneyland before the photo went viral.

"I literally had somebody say to me the other day, I think it was at Disneyland: 'Hey, you don’t seem that into this.' I was like, 'I’m at fucking Disneyland. I just want to hang out at Disneyland. I’m not here to do a meet and greet, I’m here to be at Disneyland.'"

"I’m not working, and I wasn’t being unpleasant, I wasn’t being rude. I was taking pictures with people, I took a picture with every person that asked. But then it gets into, what’s in your head? Like, you’re not smiling enough, or you don’t seem to be enjoying – and I’m like, what the fuck do you want from me?"

Ok, fair enough, Corgan has a point but still, who doesn't love a good meme...

Liam Gallagher Plays New Song Between Two Old Codgers At The Pub

This has got to be one of the best things to happen in an Irish pub

J.J. Finan, Charlestown, Co Mayo, 26.07.2015, Liam Gallagher live

All you need is Noel to pop his head in for an impromptu Oasis reunion and this probably would've gone down in history as greatest Irish pub gigs in history.

But still, Liam Gallagher in between two old codgers enjoying a pint at a pub in Ireland is still pretty great.

It's good to see the old boy getting out and about playing to the fans, lets hope this isn't what he's doing for cash though because we still enjoy seeing him on the big stage, taking down hecklers and the like.

Looks like a right old craic!

Grohl's Broken Leg Rehab Secret

"My right calf muscle looks like a sad little chicken wing, so I've been doing a little bit of my own rehab therapy..."

(Screenshot via Youtube)

Anyone who's broken a bone will know the after cast removal shame of muscle degeneration/"strong-arm-syndrome".

But Dave Grohl has his own rehab schedule on lockdown in order to avoid missing right-leg day and losing the bulk.

"Ever since I started playing the drums, my right calf muscle has been twice the size of my left from stomping the hell out of my kick drum pedal," Grohl told Q magazine in a recent interview.

"Now it lookslike a sad little chicken wing, so I've been doing a bit of my own rehab therapy lately, which is air drumming along to Led Zeppelin three times a day."

And anyone who's even vaguely a Zeppelin fan will understand that that is one innovative, hectic workout.

Good news is that once Dave's 100% again, the Foo's will be hitting the road to make up for the unfortunate gig cancellations resulting from the famous leg break before "taking a little bit of a break, no pun intended" at the end of 2015 to spend with family.

Metallica Comic Book

Our heroes of the airwaves now rage on the comic book page

(Image via Press)

Want news to make your day? Well here it is.

Metallica’s biography has been released as a totally awesome, metal as f***, comic book.

Orbit: Metallica is a 28-page comic book written by Michael L Frizell and illustrated by Jayfri Hashim and tell the super-sonic story of the bands formation and illustrious career.

You can ever choose from two covers, one of which was designed by Avenged Sevenfold artist David A. Frizell.

(David Frizell cover version 1 - Image via press)

“Metallica’s formation marks the beginning of metal, breeding thrash metal which progresses to heavy metal during the glam rock era. Many people get it wrong when they say Metallica is a rock band,” says comic book artist Jayfri Hashim in a press release.

“They’re not. They are the definition of a metal band. They were daring, innovative, and the story of their beginning fascinates me.”

You’re not alone there, brother.

The Magic Behind 'The Magic Whip'

"Thank goodness we've learnt how to play our instruments now!" - Damon Albarn

(Image via Getty)

It's not often you can get bouncing Blur frontman Damon Albarn to sit still for long enough to nab some inside scoops.

But Triple M's Ugly Phil pinned him down for a chat about Blur - new and old - and the magic behind The Magic Whip

On The Magic Whip’s unreal 5-day recording process:

“There was about 40 hours of music…but I mean, if you can just get 45 minutes of good music out of 40 hours that’s great.

“I think [the 5-day recording marathon] is probably a good way of doing things. Recording is expensive, and also thank goodness we’ve learnt how to play our instruments now!

“When we started we would never have been able to get that amount of music down. “

(Blur's Damon Albarn rousing fans at Splendour In The Grass 2015 - Image via Getty)

Blur’s recipe for success:

"We always used to enjoy going in and making our B-Sides because there was less pressure. The recipe for success in Hong Kong was there was no pressure; no one really knew what we were doing. And we didn’t even tell anyone we were recording it."

How the magic was whipped from the bottom shelf to glory:

“It actually just sat on a shelf. If it wasn’t for Graham’s [Coxon – guitarist] insistence that he take it away and look at it we wouldn’t have had any idea.

“I had so much going on that I was actually really glad no one else was bringing it up to be honest with you. But I was delighted that he bought it up.”

Why Blur again?

“I just realized that it was really good stuff, and we just couldn’t avoid making a new Blur album.

“We felt like it would be a very nice way to publicly say that we’ve made up and are friends again.”

On Blur’s early days:

“If when you’re in your twenties and travel around the world and do exactly what you want and be loved for it, I think you would behave the way we did.”

Could Blink-182 Ever Reunite?

"The love is still there" says ex-bandmate Mark Hoppus

(Image via Getty)

“Probably just a few phone calls” would be all it’d take to get the original Blink-182 together again, according to Tom DeLonge.

After all of the fights and the recent finality of Alkaline Trio frontman Matt Skiba replacing DeLonge after the band went through a longwinded “divorce”, DeLonge has expressed his eagerness to reunite with his old bandmates.

DeLonge was attending the San Diego Comic-Con to promote his new graphic novel when a fan asked him what it would take for the band to reunite and record again.

He simply replied: “Probably just a few phone calls”.

Which leads us to believe, why on earth all of the dramatic fuss and fury?

On top of that, Mark Hoppus recently stated that “the love is still there” between the group and DeLonge, though nevertheless they have “drifted apart”.

Meanwhile, DeLonge has announced his plans to release four separate albums and publish a whopping 15 novels this year.

Seems like even without Blink, the boys got it on lock down.
