Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has begun a "thorough investigation" into the deaths of two construction workers at Eagle Farm Racecourse.
The man, aged 34 and 55, were fatally crushed by a concrete wall at the course on Thursday afternoon, while working on a multi-million dollar infield development.
Other workers rushed to their aid just before 4pm, but by the time paramedics arrived it was too late.
Queensland Racing Minsiter Grace Grace said she was saddened to learn of the men's deaths.
"My heart goes out to the family and friends of those who have tragically lost their lives," she said in a statement.
