Man In Custody After Daylight Knife Attack At Melbourne Train Station

Four injured

A knife-wielding man is in custody after four people were attacked in broad daylight at a train station in Melbourne’s south east today.

The man was said to be “calm” as he assaulted four women at Glenhuntly station at around 11.15 this morning.

The incident started when the man allegedly stabbed a handbag one of the women carrying, before he assaulted them and pushed them on to the tracks.

One of those attacked was a woman in her 80s.

All four of the women have been taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

A 45-year-old man from Carnegie has been arrested and will be interviewed by police.
