Sting To Perform At Bataclan's First Concert Since Paris Attacks
Sting is set to headline the first gig at the Bataclan theatre in Paris since the Islamic State attacks which claimed the lives of 130 people last year.
The performance will be on November 12, on the eve of the first anniversary since the attacks on the theatre, Paris cafes and the national stadium, reports abcnews.
Families of the victims and those injured in the attack at the Bataclan during a concert by Eagles of Death Metal are invited to the gig, and proceeds will go to groups for those affected by the attack.
"In re-opening the Bataclan, we have two important tasks to reconcile. First, to remember and honor those who lost their lives in the attack a year ago, and second to celebrate the life and the music that this historic theater represents," Sting said in a statement.
"In doing so we hope to respect the memory as well as the life-affirming spirit of those who fell. We shall not forget them."
