Richie Benaud Is Back For 2010 Post by: The Grill Tean 16 November, 2009 - 8:43 AM

Australian cricket icon and Milo fanatic Richie Benaud is postponing retiring for another four years.

At the start of 2009 Richie shocked us all when he announced he was retiring after being the face of cricket commentary since 1960.

Richie is still calling it quits from commentating live games and will focus on making special features. Retired cricket legends Adam Gilchrist and Shane Warne are going to take his place in the commentary box.

Do you think Warnie and Gilchrist can fill Richie’s shoes?

Cricket just won't be cricket anymore when Richie retires!

I reckon Gilchrist will do a brilliant job at this - Warnie I'm not so sure about.

Gilly will be a great permanent addition. Same with Warne (although I don't think he has the natural commentator abilities of gilly, we all remember how good gilly was in the Twenty20 player mic). now to get rid of Tony Grieg, Ian chappel (I dont like Ian Healy but he wont be going anywhere even if everyone likes gilly more). Bring in McGrath and Waugh, would be a great line up- Taylor, Warne, Nichlaus, Slats, Richie, Gilly, Warne, Waugh, McGrath, Healy, Lawry, it really all would be happening!
