We Remember Vic Davies Post by: Triple M 8 November, 2009 - 8:14 AM

Vic Davies was famously the writer behind the legendary Triple M show "Club Veg" and sadly passed away on Saturday, 7 November 2009.

The Vegies aired on Triple M in the 1980s, then after a break returned in the late '90s and early naugthies.

Vic was the writer behind Club Veg and was also the musical genius and composer behind some of the best parodies around.

Some of Vic's best work included Suburban Songs, killer parodies and sketches. The thing he was the most famous for were Vic's Sucked In Calls - the original gotcha calls on Aussie radio.

His ability to mimick any artist on the radio was amazing! He could do everything from his fave band, The Beatles, to the latest rock hits.

Music was a major passion of Vic's. After Club Veg, he also released an album of kids songs - Sic Vic.

Paul & Rach did a tribute show for Vic with heaps of special guests sharing their memories of the Club Veg legend. You can download the tribute podcast here.

Leave your messages and memories for one of the greatest guys to grace the airwaves below.

At only 55 this is an absolute tragedy. My thoughts are with his family.

So so sad to lose Vic Davies. As a creative team, they were absolutely brilliant.

Doesn't he have a very young family? My thoughts are with his family, friends and loved ones.

Those of us with a warped sense of humour are truly morning the loss of one half of a great team.

Vic Davies was one of the funniest men ever to grace Australian radio, I've had the Wankers song on high rotation since I heard the news of his passing, Club Veg gave us all a reason to laugh and made a bad day seem irrelevant. May he rest in peace and all my thoughts go to his family and friends

Vic was pure genius ! His ability to carry off the impossible impersonation or parody astounded most. I cant get the line... "Hi my name is Roy, I'm your Barbie boy" outta my head !
A huge loss to the Aussie media in general. He will be sadly missed !
