Hide detailsMG's Origin Statue At ANZ Stadium
State Of Origin legend Mark "MG" Geyer stood up to Maroons champ Wally Lewis, and now he will be immortalised with his own statue out the front of Sydney's ANZ Stadium.
Mark "MG" Geyer's statue sat, benched, outside of the ANZ Stadium for the second game of the 2011 State Of Origin series. See the photos here.
Why is MG benched and not standing tall? Because the Origin and premiership-winning NRL player spent a record 34 weeks on suspension. And, Grill Team listeners cheekily voted for the pose.
We only hope the 2011 Blues team can take inspiration from MG's statue for the final game for all passionate Blues fans.
