Didak Is Like A New Man

Marcus, a Collingwood fan asks:
G'day Chief,
After watching Didak's recent form, I wondered: "How does a player suddenly late in his career get better than ever - sometimes taking on traits that we've never seen in his game?"
Marcus,
Players can be extremely frustrating creatures. At times we see them do all the things we could ever ask of them then on other occasions they have forgotten the qualities that make them such good footballers. Sometimes as players get older they also get wiser and prioritise things better, realising that their time in the game is limited.
Cheers Chief.
Norman from Queensland asks:
Hi Chief
If you were in the position to decide on picking up Barry Hall, would you? There's talk that the Bulldogs could do with a power forward but would all the trouble be worth it? Mind you, that's what everyone said about Akker.
Norman,
Barry Hall is an interesting topic. He does carry significant baggage but he is also a quality key forward. He also has a two year window at best remaining in his career. If a club feels he can contribute to a p'ship drive within those two years then he may be worth the gamble because he will come relatively cheaply.
Cheers Chief.
Brett from Carrum Downs asks:
Chief,
If you were in charge of appointing a coach at Richmond, would you consider signing Sheedy for 2 years on the proviso that Nathan Buckley sign on as his assistant with a 5 year deal to take over?
Brett,
On face value I wouldn't think Sheeds is the best way for the Tigers to go. However, it's disappointing that he has pulled out of consideration because the more qualified candidates that the Tigers speak to, the better placed they are to make the right decision. I do think they are going down the best path re their decision-making process and I'm sure Nathan Buckley will rate highly in their consideration.
Cheers Chief.

I wouldn't bother with Sheeds, he's a bit past his prime, having him in the mix in the department could be invaluable, but not in the main job.

Interested in the process of how hawthorn decided to release Zac Dawson . Alot of players have struggled at one club then succeeded at others so they are not alone . Just interested in how the process occurs
