Carlton now want Geelong youngster Nakia Cockatoo in exchange for rebounding defender Zach Tuohy, according to Triple M Footy’s Jay-Z Clark.

The Blues had initially targeted Darcy Lang as part of a potential Tuohy deal but Lang, who still has a year to run on his contract, reportedly has no desire of joining Carlton.

Tuohy requested to be traded to the Cattery last week but, as yet, Carlton and Geelong have failed to come to terms on an appropriate deal.

Cockatoo, a former No.10 pick, has played 21 games for the Cats in his two years with them and has struggled for regular game time in what has been a strong team.

Adding urgency to the situation for Geelong is the fact that another of their trade targets, Brett Deledio, looks increasingly likely to stay at Richmond.

Tuohy hasn’t missed a game in the last four seasons and sits only behind North Melbourne’s Sam Gibson, Sydney’s Dane Rampe and Melbourne’s Nathan Jones for longest active streaks of games.

Since joining the Blues in the 2010 rookie draft, Tuohy has played 120 games.
