Former Suns Player Believes Squad Is "Filthy" With Ablett

Former Hawthorn and Gold Coast player Campbell Brown has "mail" that his former club is not impressed with their captain's off-season so far.

Taking to Twitter, Brown claimed that the Suns' squad is "filthy" by Gary Ablett's notable absenteeism from day one of training.

Ablett was given extra time off for a 'delayed honeymoon' with his wife - which was seen as controversial given his commitment to the club was seriously questioned during the trade period.

"We're empathetic to Gary's situation," coach Rodney Eade said.

"We know he's got family (in Geelong) and there's things he's got to work through.

"He's totally committed and spoken to at least two of the players that were recruited to get them over the line."
