Lin Jong Could Be Set For A Shock Return This Weekend
Despite breaking his collarbone two weeks ago, Western Bulldogs midfielder Lin Jong could put his hand up for a shock return as early as this week.
With the Dogs' VFL side playing in the grand final this weekend, it allows the club the opportunity to play Jong and prove himself fit for the AFL Grand Final should the senior side defeat GWS on Saturday.
It is still unknown at this stage if the club will risk the 23-year-old in the senior side - given he required surgery on his collarbone immediately after the Elimination Final.
Western Bulldogs VFL coach Ash Hansen said a surprise return is not as ridiculous as it sounds.
“He’s trained really solidly over the last week,” Hansen said of Jong today.
“He’s a really resilient character. Clearly through his emotion, we saw how much the game and the club mean to him.”
