Israel Folau Rules Out Return To NRL Saying He's Happy At The GWS Giants
Israel Folau says he's sticking with the AFL and has no idea where the rumour came from that he was planning a return to the NRL
Israel Folau says he's sticking with the AFL and has no idea where the rumour came from that he was planning a return to the NRL.
"I'm definitely going to be at the Giants, that's for sure," he said.
The 23-year-old is contracted with the GWS Giants until the end of 2014.
"It's just rumours, whoever's spreading that (about returning to league), it's definitely not true.
"I'm just worried about my job here at the Giants and trying to move forward.
"I'm signed with the Giants for the next two years and that's all I'm worried about."
NRL man Matty Johns told Triple M's Grill Team on Wednesday he thought Israel was ready to return to the code that made him a superstar.
"I don't know how he could be happy... money doesn't make you happy," he said.

In the wake of all the argy bargy surrounding Israel's future, Folau's manager Isaac Moses contacted Matty Johns and assured him he had not met with other NRL clubs.
"I actually got a phone call yesterday from a journalist who said there is a story going around the circles that Israel was seen having a look around the Penrith club," said Matty.
"He asked if I knew anything about a player taking him there. I said I didn't know anything about it (which I don't). I'm going to try to find out more today, because I know the player, see if there's any truth to it."
"But that would give a lot of credence to how they're clearing the decks at Penrith [with the shock release of Luke Lewis], and it would be a huge victory in the battle of the West for Penrith," he concluded.
