Dean Laidley Leaves The Kangaroos Post by: Triple M Footy 16 June, 2009 - 12:03 PM
In a surprise announcement today, Dean Laidley has become the second coach to fall on his sword in 2009.The former North premiership player has apparently resigned this morning and won't coach another Kangaroos game. Rumour is that Assistant Coach Darren Crocker will take over until the end of the season. Full details will be revealed at a media conference at 1pm.
Laidley took over the Roos' reins from Dennis Pagan in 2003. Renowned for invoking the "Shinboner Spirit", his straight down the line approach manifested a surprise fourth-placed finish in 2007, only twelve months after finishing 14th.
Laidley's career with North Melbourne finishes with an almost 50% win/loss ratio.
Triple M Footy's and Herald Sun reporter Damien Barrett talks about Dean Laidley.

It's bit rough, Dean did a great job with what he had. With so much turmoil behind the scenes and a limited list he worked wonders. Should have been given the rest of the year.
