Stuart MacGill Just Ruthlessly Sledged Matthew Wade
Matthew Wade’s wicketkeeping in the Adelaide Test was always going to come under scrutiny after the way he replaced Peter Nevill.
Wade came into the side despite many feeling that Nevill is the superior keeper, and the fears about his ability were underscored midway through the second session today when he didn’t move for a Hashim Amla off Mitch Starc’s bowling.
The edge went to Matt Renshaw at first slip who reacted slightly too late and the chance went begging.
Outspoken former leggy Stuart MacGill took the opportunity to aim a ruthless sledge in Wade’s direction after the incident, taking to Twitter to register his displeasure:
Regardless of the missed chance Australia are still well on top in the game, with South Africa 1/64 in the second innings and still 60 runs behind.
