If the offers you're getting to go around next year are only from the worst teams in the comp then maybe it's time to call it quits.
And that's exactly what veteran halfback Brett Kimmorley looks like doing after fielding offers from the Sharks, Raiders and perennial under-achievers The Eels.
The 33-year-old Bulldog was dead keen to go around again next season, but it looks he just can't find a club worth going to.
The clubs that have put a deal on the table want Kimmorley for his experience. But so far he's rejected them all. Why? We're not sure. But maybe the experience of joining a club that loses more than it wins just doesn't seem as fun when you get older.
His manager told Canberra officials that Kimmorley wouldn't take up their offer because he intends to retire. This fits into the Bulldogs plans for the halfback to join their coaching staff next year.
However, the Eels still haven't given up hope of persuading him to come over and mentor their young playmaker Daniel Mortimer. The opportunity to play with superstar Jarryd Hayne wouldn't hurt as well.
