Pretty much the same team, although why the selectors have gone back on their youth policy and picked Trent Barrett I don't know.

I still think Nathan Hindmarsh, Matt Cooper and Jarrod Mullen deserve a place.

Otherwise we could just pick the whole St George team, and with Bennett has coach we'd thrash the QLDers!

They've got no chance. Even if you stuck Gus back in the coaches box... QLD will trounce 'em.

Qld have a great squad, however nate myles?? He struggled to get a starting place in the roosters earlyer in the year! David Stagg has been playing great and i believe is a much better player for that bench position! but i spose it wont make a difference

    Game 2 Qld 38 Nsw 12

Well...looks at the first game. How were a team of rookies going to beat the Australian side? Are you kidding me. It wouldn't have looked good for the Aus selectors now would it.
And again we see that Craig Bellamy cannot coach against his Melbourne Storm players. He should know there game inside and out and yet he fails to give the NSW players the inside info on those playmakers.
I can give you the heads up now. NSW will win this one because they have included an older player and then it will go to QLD and the maroons will win their record 4th straight series because State of Origin is only successful when QLD are winning!!! and lets face it, it is the Australian side and as I have stated above the Australian Selectors would look like idiots if NSW were to win the series.
Call it my conspiracy theory if you want but I am over it. If six referees can't get it right then I only have to assume!!!!

i agree. nsw has no chance of beating QLD. im a QLD supporter and qld have the best backline in the world. then u look at nsw squad and u look at the halves with wallace and barret. i dnt think they should've been the halves. and i think ennis has got 2 be in the side.

Mate seriously, look at the NSW squad, its true that we need new faces and some youngies in there but to pick someone who has come from overseas which is slower than the NRL to be selected in the state squad is ridiculous, Trent Barret needs to have at least 2 seasons to pick up his fitness, skills and game plans. Super League is slower and is practically a slower motion of NRL, if you want "experienced" players in there, Brett Kimmorley is the way to go, just because he made one stupid pass in the past, doesnt mean he'll do it again, Kurt Gidley made a lot of errors in the 1st 2009 game and still is in the squad and as captain. Trent Barret only got lucky because he lead the Cronulla Sharks to a 3 win in a row, but hey, guess who's on top, Canterbury Bulldogs, which is lead by who?? that's right, Brett Kimmorley.. and another fact, Jamie Lyon has a good attacking game, but defence and experienced wise... not so good around those area's, Matt Cooper has both, he's defence isn't 100%, but experience and attacking wise, he's the man to pick.. Matt Cooper 2 of out 3, Jamie Lyon, 1-3.. and this goes for Joel Monaghan switching for David Williams... what the hell are the selectors doing...

You cant beat stability in a team. Having an injury free side without a large turnover of players each week is the best way to build confidence & ultimately momentum. The Tigers in 2005 was a great example of this when they managed to keep a young enthusiastic side on the paddock each week, & took the title. The NSW origin side has to overcome a lot of injuries and player changes. Whilst the injuries are just bad luck, the selectors seemingly dont have any patience with players they reckon had a sub par performance. Terry Campese deserved another chance, and Anthony Laffranchi went OK. The selectors need to show as much faith in the players as we have had in them. Otherwise they need the boot.

The NSW selectors have got it all wrong, yet again. Michael Ennis at hooker for game 2. He constantly produces signs of origin strength. Tom Learoy-Lahrs should start. Terry Campese is lethal at best, and although a quiet offensive game 1, had an impressive defensive match. Campese should have retained his five-eighth spot with Jarrod Mullen at half back in replace of the out of form/overated Peter Wallace. If NSW were to have a fair 50-50 hope for game 2 it would have to look like this:
    1.Kurt Gidley
    2.Jarrod Hayne
    3.Josh Morris
    4.Joel Monaghan
    5.David Williams
    6.Terry Campese
    7.Jarrod Mullen
    8.Brett White
    9.Michael Ennis
    10.Anthony Watmough
    11.Tom Learoy-Lars
    12.Glenn Stewart
    13.Luke O'Donnell
    interchange
    Justin Poore
    Paul Gallen
    Nathan Hindmarsh
    Robbie Farrah
