In a big step for the footy-mad nation, Papua New Guinea will take part in the Intrust Super Cup (formerly Queensland Cup) for 2014.
"Papua New Guinea have had there bid for an Intrust Super Cup side accepted for 2014," read a post on the 2013 Rugby League World Cup official Facebook page.
It's hoped this will see more PNG players to picked up by NRL and Super League clubs.
In 2014, they'll play their home games in Kalabond Oval, in Kokopo, East New Britain Province, until the Loyd Robson Oval in Port Moresby has completed its upgrades for the 2015 Pacific Games.
