Manly Announce Whopping SIX MILLION DOLLAR Signing
Manly have managed to secure the Turbo brothers until the end of 2020, with Tom and Jake Trbojevic committing to the club in a deal reported to be worth $6 million.
The pair have opted to upgrade their deals for 2017, with Jake's three year extension (seasons 2018-2020) worth around $2.1 million and Tom's contract for a slightly larger $2.7 million.
It's taken weeks of negotiation, as Manly boss Bob Fulton spoke at length with the Turbo brothers' family.
“It’s extremely pleasing that we can continue to build the team around these two fine young players but also another number of youngsters in our squad," coach Barrett said to seaeagles.com.au.
"We hope to be able to keep the nucleus of this side together for years to come."
For the brothers, there was little chance that they'd actually leave Manly, and it was more a case of hitting the right figure - especially since both are tipped for Origin duties in the near future.
“We never wanted to go anywhere else," Jake said.
"It was just a matter of the negotiations taking place, and Bob Fulton made it easy and was always available to answer any questions we may have had.
"We are excited about the future of the Sea Eagles and want to be a part of it."
