Assistant coach, Anthony Griffin has revealed he was appointed head coach of the Brisbane Broncos yesterday, shortly after it was announced Ivan Henjak had been sacked.
He said the last 24 hours had been unusual but assured punters he was ready.
“I’m ready to coach, I wouldn’t be here if I wasn’t.
“The coaching game is a funny game, you know the media is always speculating about it. Unfortunately there’s coaches getting fired and hired everyday of the week and I understand that more than anyone – I’ve had it happen to me a couple of times.
“The management asked me to [coach] yesterday afternoon and I just want to get the team prepared”.
Griffin will be stepping on to the field as head coach next Monday when the Broncos host the Melbourne Storm at Dolphin Oval.
Do you think Griffin will take the Bronco’s to the finals this year?
