Channel Nine has jumped on the furore surrounding controversial comments made about The Footy Show host Paul "Fatty" Vautin.

The network premiered the show's 2012 ad which centres on the "average" comments made by media boss John Singleton earlier in the week.

The promotional ad, which you can see above, opens with the front cover of The Daily Telegraph featuring Matty Johns and Paul Vautin's fall out with the banner "average".

It comes after John Singleton was quoted in the article as labelling Vautin "an average footballer and he's an average TV talent."

The 33-second ad continues to show snippets of Vautin stumbling over his words and getting tackled in a footy match, all labelled with the banner "average".

What do you think of the ad? Do you think the show should be revamped?
