Matty Johns: Wests Tigers Need Better Defence
Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheen had a few choice words to say after last night's loss to the Newcastle Knights at the Hunter Stadium last night. Triple M's Matty Johns and Mark Geyer weighed up their performance overnight.
Wests Tigers coach Tim Sheen had a few choice words to say to Triple M's Monday Night Football team after last night's loss to the Newcastle Knights at the Hunter Stadium last night.
"I don't know whether or not the cue goes in the rack at times with this club. Certainly I'm not happy with... defensively, some of the guys didn't own up, and I can't keep copping that," Sheens told Triple M's Monday Night Football.
Triple M's Matty Johns and Mark Geyer revealed what they think is the missing link from the Tigers' performance on Triple M this morning.
"I never have a question about the Tigers ability, they're absolutely outstanding... it's just defensively, whether they're on their game. The defensive requirement and the defensive energy is a difficult discipline for the Tigers to get their heads around. It's been a difficult few weeks," Matty Johns said.
I'll cut them some slack... because the emotion that travels with an important loss in any kind of environment takes a toll," Triple M's Mark "MG" Geyer added.
"But you don't miss the fact that if anyone else says anything about his football side, [Sheens] jumps up and down, but it's obviously OK for him to do it," Johns added.
