Phil Gould To Coach The Roosters?
"This is one that's been around for the last month, and it's even to the point now that it's hitting the media. It's one that won't go away," Matty Johns said.
"I must say it would be a shock, but then again it wouldn't be. Gus Gould always made his intentions pretty clear, that when he became CEO of Penrith, he wanted to make sure he changed things around and got things back on track," Mark "MG" Geyer responded.
"The way he commentates about the Roosters in glowing terms, and says that this is a team with plenty of potential, it would make a layman think that if you put one and one together, you get Gus at the Roosters," Geyer continued.
"He and Nick Politis have got a great relationship... and I think that they're looking to rebuild this club again," Johns added.
Michael Jennings To Eels Next Year?
"Michael Jennings to Parramatta next year - another one that won't go away, and a lot of people are saying it's got credence." Matty said.
"I think a month ago, if you asked me that same question, I would have said maybe it might happen. But now I think that he's playing great footy, Penrith have had a couple of wins. I think he's done a whole 360 and he's going to be a Panther for a long time," Penrith's #1 ticket holder Geyer said.
Brian Smith Vs. Mitchell Pearce?
"We know that they're trying to mend the relationship at the Roosters at the moment between coach Brian Smith and star player Mitchell Pearce," Johns explained.
"We're hearing that if Brian Smith is going to be there next year, Mitchell Pearce will most definitely ask for release, and the club that will jump on top of him will be the Bulldogs. It makes sense," Johns continued.
"It does make sense. I think Mitchell Pearce will be the first to put his hand up and say in the last 12 to 18 months, he's played a lot worse than he could play. He didn't do much in Origin, but he's got potential... inside that halfback body, there's a player," Geyer said firmly.
"Wait until Desi [Hasler] sprinkles that magic," Johns added.
Kearney To Coach Warriors?
"People in the know are saying Kearney won't be out of the coaching game long, that he'll be coaching the New Zealand Warriors," Matty Johns said.
"That's logical. He's a national coach, most of the national team are in the Warriors. I think it would be the next logical appointment, him being the coach of the NZ Warriors," Geyer responded.
"When [current coach] 'Bluey' McClennan was first appointed, I thought it was an odd choice. It just shows, they're very unfit at the moment," Geyer added.
