The 2009 NRL Grand Final is a story about two teams looking for redemption, renewal, and of course, glory.
The Melbourne Storm were soundly thrashed 40-0 in last year's decider and hopes to put things behind them. What happened to Manly is a story for another time.
Weeks ago, the Eels were set to add a wooden spoon to their already-dusty trophy cabinet. Parramatta haven't drunk from the winners cup since 1986.
They've lived every single rugby league cliche possible. And utimately, there can only be one winner.
Here's how the teams line up...
- Storm: Billy Slater, Steve Turner, Will Chambers, Greg Inglis, Dane Nielsen, Brett Finch, Cooper Cronk, Brett White, Cameron Smith, Aiden Tolman, Adam Blair, Ryan Hoffman, Dallas Johnson
- Eels: Jarryd Hayne, Luke Burt, Joel Reddy, Krisnan Inu, Eric Grothe, Daniel Mortimer, Jeff Robson, Fui Fui Moi Moi, Matthew Keating, Nathan Cayless, Nathan Hindmarsh, Ben Smith, Todd Lowrie

Although I hate both teams equally,for all you punters who want a collect after sundays grand final. Fill in a TAB pick the score ticket with your choice of wager and in the Storm box tick 49+ and in the Parra boxes tick as many as you like. The final cost per dollar will depend on how many Parra boxes you tick. This is not going to be pretty. Parra have been partying all week like they've already won it and the Storm,Well,they're the Storm.Four grand finals in a row speaks for itself.Don't forget that there's a game still to be played and that there ain't no next week.Manly to win in 2010.

personally i hope the storm wins, i'm a roosters supporter & since they aren't in the GF i really hope the storm wins so that my friend doesn't get to rub the eels win in my face.
granted that i despise the eels & all other teams in the nrl besides the tigers & the roosters...i'm not ashamed to say that either.
good luck to both the eels & the storm but storm will come out on top in the end.
